This largely depends on the treatment outline you are given. Most of our therapies only require an intravenous (I.V.) drip in the forearm or the back of the palm.

However, our more specialised programs require a combination of administrative routes. Some programs requires injections directly into the affected joint (knee, shoulder etc) while a brain-related program may (or may not) require an injection directly into the spine – an intrathecal (I.T.) injection. A numbing cream will be applied to the area prior to administration but you will experience tenderness at the injection site for up to 2 weeks in some cases. It is strongly advised that you limit your movements post-therapy.

All patients are required to register prior to therapy (please bring along passport or NRIC). This usually takes anywhere from 15 minutes to an hour depending on the number of patients at the hospital.

Therapy itself can take anywhere from half an hour to 2 hours depending on the number procedures being performed. You will be kept under observation post-therapy and discharged once you’ve been given the all clear. In some cases, however, patients are advised to remain hospitalized overnight.

Based on 30 years of observation by scientists in the field, the most adverse reactions have been a high-grade fever, nausea, headache and vomiting. These are symptomatic of having foreign bodies introduced into your body. Once the symptoms are treated, there are no other reactions. Less than 10% of patients experience any adverse reactions post-therapy.

It is strongly advised that you have all tests, scans and cancer marker screening performed in your country of residence. This is because our specialists will refuse therapy to patients whose test results fail to meet the required safety standards. We recommend e-mailing us the necessary test results in order for our specialists to review and determine if you are a viable candidate for stem cell therapy.

We can arrange for you to have the necessary tests, scans and cancer marker screening performed, at the patient’s expense, here in Malaysia but this would require a longer stay. There is also a chance that you may not be able to receive therapy if your test results fail to meet the required safety standards.
